You are advised to switch to your nearest mirror
site before downloading analog.
- Which version of analog should I download?
- Version 5.1 is the latest version. It is only available in
28 languages at the moment, but
version 4.16 contains eight additional languages, and is
still available.
You need the version of analog corresponding to the machine you want to
run analog on. (It doesn't matter what machine your web server is running
on).
If your web server is hosted by your ISP, then ask them to run analog for
you. Alternatively, if they're willing to give you access to the web
server's logfiles, you can transfer those files from their machine to
yours, and then run analog on your machine.
- Windows users
- You can download a pre-compiled executable if you have an Intel-compatible
chip and Windows 95/NT or later:
analog_51w32.zip (1.03Mb). When you unzip
it you will find the program and all the documentation.
- Mac users
- Mac users (OS 8, 9 or X) can download a pre-compiled executable too:
analog-5.1.sit.hqx (1.75Mb).
When you download it, it should unpack itself and be ready to run.
Analog runs as a Carbon app on OS X.
OS X users who want to run analog from the Darwin command line can also
get a precompiled
version from Chris Pepper.

These packages contain the source code for all versions, and
instructions. It compiles "out of the box" on most operating
systems.
- Version 4.16
- For the following languages -- Bosnian, simplified Chinese, Croatian,
Finnish, Greek, Icelandic, Romanian, Russian and Slovak -- you
will need to use version 4.16. Other users, please use version 5.1!
