ASHE README File

This is the ftp public ASHE Directory. ASHE stands for A Simple HTML Editor. This Editor was presented in the Second WWW Conference at Chicago . This is a beta version. We are not responsible for any damage to your files.

ASHE was written using C language, Motif and NCSA HTML Widget.

You can find the latest sources files in pub/puninj/ASHE/ASHE-1.3/src . The name of the file is xhtml-1.3.tar.Z. You can get the files following these steps:


uncompress xhtml-1.3.tar.Z
tar xvf xhtml-1.3.tar

If you do not have the NCSA HTML Widget library, you can get it in pub/puninj/ASHE/ASHE-1.3/libhtmlw-2.7 or in ftp.ncsa.uiuc.edu. You will also need to get the CCI library in pub/puninj/ASHE/ASHE-1.3/libcci or in ftp.ncsa.uiuc.edu

The binary file xhtml (SUN Workstation only) is in pub/puninj/ASHE/ASHE-1.3/bin. This was compiled for SunOS 4.1.3

I would like help on providing static binary files of ASHE for other platforms such as IBM, SGI, HP-UX, etc. I would like also an ASHE Linux version. You can find some binary static files for different platforms in /pub/puninj/ASHE/contrib/bin

Capable of displaying Forms.
Capable of displaying GIF and Bitmaps Images.
Capable of displaying simple tables
Local Navigation
Connection with Mosaic using CCI
Connection with Netscape
